Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by!
My name is Andrew and I am the guy behind No Borders Required.
I started this blog to document my journey as I travel across the world.
How this all started!
My passion for travelling first started out in 2017. Like many people, I was not really satisfied with my job or where my life was going.
I had just taken a week off with my mom to visit family in Taiwan. And on the second day back, my boss pulled me into the office and told me flat out that my performance had been “sub-par” and I would be fired in two months (right before Christmas) if I didn’t “improve.”
That struck me as weird because I had always been a high performer at work (not to toot my own horn or anything). But it taught me a valuable lesson.
I had spent about 5 years of my life helping someone build their business…build their dream. But I hadn’t really done that for myself.
I managed to negotiate an exit and decided I needed to go somewhere to cool off for a week or two.
Someone I knew (a yoga teacher) had just spent time time in Aruba and the pictures looked amazing. So I booked a ticket right away.
And in November (literally right after Thanksgiving), I flew out to Aruba for one of my first solo vacations.
It was an amazing experience. It was one of the first times in my life where I felt truly free. I didn’t have to worry about anything at all…no emails, no phone calls, no clients. Just the breeze of the ocean against my face and the freedom to do whatever I wanted.
I’ll never forget my first night there. I arrived in the early afternoon. After I checked into my hotel, I went straight for the beach for a quick dip in the warm Caribbean water.
After that I wanted to catch the beautiful California lighthouse at sunset. I’ll always remember driving up there for the first time.
I had the car windows rolled down. The breeze of the ocean hit my face as I gazed upon the beautiful lighthouse. I couldn’t believe I was here. Sometimes it’s hard to appreciate the moment and take things for granted.
After the lighthouse, I parked near the beach on the north and walked around the sand dunes until it was dark.
Since that first solo trip, I promised myself that I would see the world for myself and travel as often as possible.
And so far, I think I’ve been able to keep that promise to myself 🙂
What you’ll get here
I started this blog to document my journey. I write detailed *and sometimes way too long reviews/guides* to all of the places I visit.
You’ll learn all the cool tips and tricks I learned while visiting all of my destinations so you can save time, money, and headaches.
Every one of my trips are paid out of my own pocket. I have not taken any sponsorships or promotions to go anywhere. And all of my reviews are based from my own unique experience in each location.
So I hope you’ll join on my journey as I travel around the world and maybe we’ll even connect out there somewhere.
Cheers,
Andrew
